Over the past four years, APHA has worked with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Association of City and County Health Officials, National Association of Local Boards of Health, National Network of Public Health Institutes and Public Health Foundation to create the national Public Health Performance Standards (NPHPS). The NPHPS instruments will help to strengthen state public health systems, local public health systems, and local public health governance. The NPHPS instruments can serve as valuable tools in determining current performance and capacity, identifying areas that need to be improved, strengthening state and local partnerships, and ensuring the presence of a strong system that can respond effectively to everyday public health issues and public health emergencies.

APHA Annual Meeting Keynote Address 2:30-3:00 pm ET NPHPS Panel Discussion 3:00-4:30 pm ET Continuing education credit will be offered for a variety of professions based on 1.5 hours of instruction for the session. A fee of $25 per person will be charged for CE application. There is no registration fee.
