Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the topic of clinical supervision using a unique systems approach. The Systems Approach to Supervision (SAS) is designed to assist the practicing clinician in (a) formulating professionally appropriate goals in supervision, (b) design training strategies to meet these goals, (c) establish an on-going facilitative working alliance with the supervisee, and (d) understand the client/patient and organizational factors that effect supervision practice. The course will emphasis the development of skills in professional reflection, training case analysis, and organizational analyses as they are related to supervision practice.
