Course Description: |
The objective of this course is to provide detailed knowledge and techniques for effective accident and incident investigation. Additionally, the course teaches statistical analysis tools that can be used to evaluate injury and illness data toward to apply in accident and exposure prevention strategies. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand the purpose of accident/incident investigation
- Uncover the true and underlying causes of accidents and exposures
- Develop effective accident/incident investigation programs and techniques
- Know the priorities and rules for effective accident/incident investigating
- Effectively interview witnesses
- Gather critical evidence of the accident or exposure
- Determine all causal factors
- Use proven statistical methods for evaluating accident and exposure data
- Implement directed accident and exposure prevention strategies
